On Friday night Julie took me to see Seussical the Musical, because we do things like that. Beloved played baseball in the cold and hung out with our Jewish friend.

On Saturday, because everyone loves us, our family threw Kent and I a birthday party. I won $2 on a scratch off card. Kent won $5. Nana made us a cake. Caden developed a hatred for Leta. JT, Kent, Alex, and I played softball (kind of) out in the front yard while the sun went down. Just like we used to. Alex took a bunch of blurry pictures.

And I danced for my family, sometimes by request, sometimes not. Alex was my paparazzi.

And I took some pictures of the baby. Because this is the cutest baby on the planet.

And on Sunday someone threw a football at Beloved’s face. And then Alex’s side of the family had a cookout for all of the March birthdays. I got my own cupcake.

Happy Birthday Husband!
The universe sent down a shower of sparks, meteors, and stars for him this morning. The sun rises and sets for him…I’m not surprised that meteors fall for him too. That boy of mine has the world at his feet.
I love you…so much.

Padre,
I want you to know how much we love you and how integral you are to our daily lives. You’re always there, always helping, giving advice, and giving us reasons to laugh…or giving people reasons to laugh at me. Thank you for keeping track of all the movies I have to watch and for going with me to the pound and helping with all the wedding planning. Thank you most of all for loving Madre so much and for being Alex’s best friend and for always being so proud and supportive. You rock, FIL.
Happy Birthday
Love,
Your BFFL,
DIL & Alex

Dear Madre,
If there were an award for mother-in-law-of-the-year, I would nominate you until you won. I would rig it if I had too. Thank you for letting me call you Madre and not judging me for my unsavory jokes. I hope you really really really liked your Hoops and Yoyo e-cards cause I really really really liked sending them. I think you’re great. Thank you for letting me have Alex. I think he’s great too. I like hangin out with you…a lot. I hope you had a fairly better than average day. I’ve got big plans for your 43rd.
Mucho cerveza, love, hugs, & kisses,
your daughter in law and her lovely husband

Panama City was a blur and on the way back we took the scenic route and I’ve decided we were meant to live in Apalachicola. And we saw a VW bus on the road too, so it was obviously a sign.
Then I turned 21 and Corona hung out with me poolside so we could catch up on our sexy tans. Who cares if dogs aren’t allowed…clearly, I don’t. Then Alex, the Dutiful Husband that he is, made sure to be even extra marvelous. He artfully created a strawberry masterpiece in lieu of a boring cake and it was so adorable. And thoughtful. And that’s why I like him so much.
Then we went camping at Turtle Beach – where the pelicans were absolutely out of control – and I demanded a rum drink from the bar and demanded to be carded. Woo 21!
Then we went out to a nice birthday dinner and I wasn’t carded. So in retaliation, we stealthily left with the martini glass. And a fork, compliments of my favorite little brother…

I baked Kent some cupcakes for his birthday. I made him some jello shots too, but he was having none of it, so that’s just completely irrelevant.

A can of root beer was in the middle…although I had a grandiose plan that involved many, many miniature liquor bottles.

Somewhere along the line I missed the discussion on how sparklers can not, in fact, be used as candles.
It didn’t change my mind.
